Yes I realize that whoever still actually visits my site find themselves wondering where The Lost Time went to.

Well.

I’ve re-edited it, so if you’ve read the previous version, it’s A WHOLE LOT different now. (: I added another three or four characters in, and played down Lancelot’s role dramatically.

Funnily enough (haha, not really), now that I’ve finished mass editing it, I can’t get myself to check through for grammatical, spelling, punctuation errors, etc. /:

Anyways.

Let’s start from the beginning of this week?

Sunday: We watched Billy Elliot (: I don’t know why they chose that show though, there was a lot of swearing and cussing, and even though it was good, I think it’s the worst Broadway show I’ve seen so far (Please don’t take any offence)… I’ve seen the Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Lion King, and Mary Poppins. (: Then we had our boundaries extended! (Only for Monday 4-9, Friday 4-9, Sunday 12-9). And there’s this long form we have to fill out /: I really think they’re creating a mountain out of an anthill. I understand their concerns- People will get lost (highly likely), take the wrong train (likely), get mugged (very unlikely)… ETC. But that’s only because some people just DON’T LOOK OUT. Gosh. The more they drone on about it, the more the students are likely to get bored, tune out, and do what they like. And since we only have 3 days out of THIRTY in downtown Manhattan, everyone will be trying to get out and it’ll just create more chaos!

Come on you’ve got to be kidding me. But even some of the teachers in this program don’t know how to take the subway. That day in the Urban Safari, they led us onto the wrong train and didn’t even realize it until I told them to get the hell off the train before we rode our way into the Bronx. (Or was it Queens I can’t remember?)

For minor on Monday we joined classes with human rights.

Anyways yesterday for major we went to Wall Street to the Museum of American Finance, and it was a great museum! (: Then we went to see the bull.

Today we went to the UN and it was quite good! I looked at the Human Rights thingy, and saw this rule:

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression, this right includes freedom to hold opinions, without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

*Cough cough*. Isn’t Singapore part of the UN?

Soooo. Shouldn’t they adhere to this too? *Cough*.

Fine, compare our country to any Middle East country, and we’ll come up as having more freedom of expression. But compare us to any other place? No, even China- we have less freedom of expression here, trust me. Maybe China would be more stringent on the political front- but Singapore just doesn’t have freedom of expression- for a fully developed country… Ahem. It’s not the government (well, in part- actually in a really huge part- yes) but the people here (I’m sorry I’m Singaporean too, and I’m not saying I don’t want to be so, but I really think there’s a lot of things our country can change) the people here are so uptight, so judging.

If I went around with blue hair I’ll be criticized and stared at to no end.

Here in the US- nope.

It’s not only that, it’s just that our country is generally close minded- not all people, but alot.

Anyways class now g2g I MIGHT finish this post, but knowing me, probably not haha.

-FEW HOURS LATER-

YAY I’M BACK! (:

OKay I forgot to say that yesterday night I went with Ally Petek and Sohee to Le Monde for dinner.

(:

It was good but not amazing. I mean, french is always good. But that isn’t the best. I felt really full so I just had the chocolate molten cake- the insides weren’t really molten- and all chocolate molten lava cake tastes good. I mean- there’s no way to fail drastically as long as you’ve got a recipe. I think even the one in Choupinette’s better… On Sunday we’re planning to finally make use of the extended boundaries and go to Maze (by Gordon Ramsay)- and I saw fondant on their menu too. SO. I’m excited. At first we were going to go to Nougatine (Jean Georges) for restaurant week, but. They didn’t have space. Then we booked the Maze (or rather I did all the restaurant searching and booking), and then realized that they didn’t offer the restaurant week special on weekends. So. The  price is still quite reasonable though, so we’re still going.

Today we did some interesting stuff in Psychology, so I finally didn’t fall asleep in class! (:

We’re going to Yale tomorrow! I shouldn’t have gotten Ash a Princeton shirt, I forgot we were going to Yale /:  Ashley prefers Yale haha. I don’t know, I have to visit both schools first, right? And even then you can’t tell, because your impression on a school really depends on your guide (which was very apparent from the difference in opinion of the two groups we were split into when we went to Upenn- the first group hated it, the second loved it, all because of the speaker).

Okay g2g for this business talk, cya! (:

New Yorkkk

Haha I think all my followers have like disappeared since I virtually never post anymore.

Anyways. I finished redrafting The Lost Time and I should check over it for grammar and spelling thingies but I don’t knoww.  Not that I don’t have time here (I have about an hour or two a day if I really want to maximize my free time), but I don’t really feel like it? I don’t know.

I thought spending a summer in New York would be glorious- not that I now find it otherwise, it’s okay- but it’s, guess what, boring. Ish. We have boundaries so we’re restrained to a very underdeveloped- no, not underdeveloped- just very. Subdued and uninteresting university-town-like part of New York. I kind of regret not spending my summer holiday polishing up my book and trying to get it published, or revising school work and preparing for mocks, or even just sitting in the pool with a decadent strawberry banana smoothie in hand, and basing in the sun.

Believe it or not, I miss Singapore.

Don’t get me wrong, New York’s a great city, and holds the beacon of light, the city of dreams for many. But I don’t find it as amazing as I had once preconceived. Perhaps it’s because I’m used to living in a city- and the buildings and skyscrapers don’t capture my attention and make me gasp in awe. While others may find it amazing, different, unique- I find it- average. I can’t imagine what would happen if I just so happen to move to a smaller city or t0wn. I could never survive.

I like traveling- but I get bored very easily. No, or maybe I don’t. Put a laptop in front of me and I’ll be content with typing away.

But I never seem to get myself to do it.

And yet now I am? I’m typing away.

Forgive my diverging strains of thought. I don’t know. I feel like I wasted a crucial four weeks of my time. I have learnt something- a bit, I suppose- but nothing I couldn’t have learnt myself.

So. Moral of story? Don’t expect too much from life. Life only gives you wonders when you least expect them, and never meets them when you want it the most.

Okay I shall end with that?

This is so weird. LOL okay bye see you guys back in Singapore (:

Been a long time…

Ah, been a long time. For some insane and bizarre reason i thought of Led Zeppelin from that title^^

it’s been a long time since i rocked and rolled…

Don’t ask me why, I don’t even listen to them.

So.

Been a long time, eh folks?

Now that reminded me of Bugs Bunny. xD

So, recent updates? Well, not particularly recent, I suppose it’s been an unbelievably long time since I last posted. Time seems to really speed by. I seem to spend more time emailing and on facebook and watching things than I do blogging or writing, or even studying my economics. Although I’m still keeping up with schoolwork. LOL.

have actually re edited three quarters of The Lost Time- Can you believe that it’s been 10 months since I finished it? I pretty much only look at two chapters a month, or less- that’s why there hasn’t been any developments. If I had really followed up on everything and spent more time writing, I could’ve finished this book three years ago. But it would’ve turned out very differently, no doubt about that.

Circumstances up at the educational front? I feel like a contemptious and boringly studious kid (a.k.a nerd) talking about my grades, but I just checked up on some of my friends’ blogs and they’ve ALL posted about their grades. So there’s been nothing bad so far, I’ll only post about that if something absolutely DISASTROUS happens.

Today happens to be one of the exceptionally good days. I’ve been overcome with some sort of euphoria- (why am I speaking in such a formal way?). Pretty much I’ve been hyper today. I think it’s the effects of the huge cup of milo i had? Or just having too much food in general.

So I got home today and realized that besides studying for the physics test (which, by the way, is too early to study for) I had no homework. At the time it was already 6 so there wasn’t much time to kill. But I did manage to review a chapter or two of the economics book. And edit about half a chapter.

I’ve been falling sick alot this year, I think about thrice in the past three months? O.o So the last time i fell sick (beginning of this month/end of last month, i think), I just spent the morning/afternoon writing this short story. After I finished it I decided I needed a teacher to give me some critique but my english teacher seemed like the busy kind, and I really haven’t talked to Mrs. Bull for the longest time. So I passed it to Mr. Mel who told me last year that he would be happy to see anything I wrote…

But yeah.

I haven’t even asked for his opinion back yet, always afraid to go to his class because of Maxine. And Melanie. And everyone who hates his guts. I really despise how I’m trapped in this situation with ——- again. She’s so fragile, and I do care about her- but I really really can’t stand her. She’s always there, bringing dark clouds to drown out the sunlight. Her mood swings harrows me, her incessant whining infuriates me, her neurotic obsession with her looks and failed self confidence sets me on edge.

And the truth?

She keeps saying that everyone hates her, but the people who hate her only do because she hates them for no particular reason. Because she’s malicious and gossips about them behind their backs.

GOSH look at me. Talking about her.

You see how it’s influencing me?

But anyways, I’m just trying to avoid her in school so I can be my normal, jovial and convivial self.

Last saturday/this sunday, I went for Sonica’s 15th which was awesome! Sorry, I’m going to be however informal as I like, it’s just plain weird to be formal when I’m talking about my good friend’s birthday party xD

It was awesome, OMG! (: Sonico’s mom arranged an ice skating party for her (my parents would NEVER spend that money on a birthday party for me, just saying- but then they are sending me to NY:) and there were about 20 people there! I met all the MGS peeps again (they’re actually shorter than me, most of them. I feel better about my unbelievably short height now). I manage to catch up with Liz, which was great. (: And I do still keep in touch with Ashley alot, so that’s great too!  She didn’t seem to like ice skating very much though, we all tried to help her (: But it was lovely, it wasn’t awkward and full of silent pauses and unnatural words and cold shoulders. We’re all gluing together again, me thinks! xD And I went to Sonico’s house at 11:30 am or something like that and we talkeddd it was lovely. (: Then Liz came and sort of tortured her hamster Whiskers- no, was it Winky? Well, not really tortured- but played with it. Haha. Winky (I think that’s her name) crawled into HER SHORTS WHEN SHE WAS PLAYING GUITAR ROFL. xD AHAHHAAHA.

Well so ice skating was fun but unfortunately I had to leave at 7. ): For Mel’s bday sleepover (:

So I went to Mel’s house, and we talked, ate Tony Roma’s (delivery) with Mel’s bro Doug and his gf. They’re pretty cool. Maxine, as always, ate almost nothing (rather reminds me of the phrase my physics teacher Mr. Bennett keeps reminding us of- VIRTUALLY NEGLIGIBLE). And she kept saying it was awkward, OH GOSH YOU NEED SOME SOCIAL SKILLS. I MEAN. REALLY. Her brother wasn’t like a parent, it was pretty cool, i wished I had a brother.

So after dinner we went to watch Mission Impossible (the 1996 one, it was confusing so we stopped midway), and Sonica called me! OH MY GOSH it was like, what, 10:30 pm and Ash and Liz were still at her house, and they had an impromptu sleepover! Ash’s dad had reached their house, but then said they could have a sleepover and just went home! Ah, I wished that I didn’t have a sleepover on the same day as the party, I could’ve spent more time with them. ):

But anyways. We ended up going to Udders (ice cream shop) at 11pm. NOW THAT’S THE AWESOME THING ABOUT HAVING A COOL BROTHER. Apparently Mel does that quite often, now that he can drive her. OH GOSH THEY ORDERED SO MANY SCOOPS BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. But of course Maxine kept going ‘this is awkward’ secretly and ruined it. Why does it always happen like this? The next day too, we all wanted to go rockclimbing but she didn’t.

I’m hoping she never sees this post, I don’t think anyone who knows her checks on my blog?

Good.

(:

I feel mean. But really, you don’t know how unreasonable it gets!

So we returned home and watched Avatar (we had actually picked out four movies) but I fell asleep immediately and woke up in the morning with a backache. We had pancakes and yogurt and then went out, and just shopped around (which pretty much means ‘did nothing and was bored’). Renee came at 12 and lightened the mood- we haven’t all been out together for so long. We ate Yoshinoya and then Cold Stone, and then Max left and we went to this uber cool shop and then I left.

Overall a fun weekend but I wish I spent more time with Sticky and Co. (: xD

So we arranged to watch Pirates of the Carribean on the 28th! (:

Excited! (:

So yea. I’d betttter go. Gnite! (:
